Four brothers, four stories, for fates. This is the story of four brother’s different experiences on the North West Frontier of India in the 1930s, throughout the Second World War, during the partition of India in 1947 and the Malayan Emergency in the 1950s. Drawing on an unusual collection of letters and photographs, it gives insight into this crucial period of Britain’s history while it shows the deepfelt isolation of their mother during the war in Jersey under German occupation.
