Forest of Ash offers to English language readers many of the oldest known fragments of poems and songs in Basque, bits and pieces of a distant time, place, and language. It is a collection of poems that can live, breathe, and speak to us now about the wars and conflicts that affected the Basques of the fifteenth century.
