For Right and Freedom: A Tale of the Barbary War

The year is 1803. Patrick Sullivan, an Irish orphan turned American seaman, is abducted at gunpoint into the service of Britain's Royal Navy. After being flogged by his ship's villainous First Officer, he vows to escape, and to rejoin his countrymen as they fight the Barbary Pirates along the shores of Tripoli.
In this, the first novel of a new series, author Andrew Costa weaves fiction with meticulously researched history as he takes Patrick and his companions on a fight "for right and freedom" across the Mediterranean. Joining forces with real-life heroes from early American history, such as Captain Stephen Decatur and William Eaton, the young seaman will be caught up in some of the most pivotal events of this forgotten conflict.
