Footprints, Harbours and Colours

The author's journey begins in suburban Johannesburg where she spent her early years in the security of a life in the grips of apartheid. A sequence of serendipitous events lead her to meet a charming Irishman who takes her on an unconventional course through Greece and on to Ireland. When she leaves her heartland, nothing could have prepared her for what lay ahead. She experiences the highs and lows of settling into new places, the challenges of motherhood, and the devastation of loss. As she tries to make sense of her own life, she travels to faraway places such as the Himalayas, India and the Colorado Rockies. Throughout her journey, three places capture her heart: South Africa, Greece and Ireland. However, her need to belong takes her to a place of heart.
