How does the industrialization of food objectify humanity and dissociate us from nature?InFood Fight, a global panel of researchers and activists lay bare the devastating histories and current realities of weaponized food. They engage with the role of colonialism in the destruction of Indigenous foodways, the representation of Coca-Cola Colonialism in Indian literature and film, the intersection of law and the deforestation of the Amazon for cattle farming in Brazil, connections between food and theology in the Himalayas, and readings of the Bible from a Moana perspective. Each contribution offers a unique point of view on the various ways that food interacts with politics, theology, history, and religion, illuminating how what we eat is always more than just calories.
