In this collection of essays, Luigi Amara explores the hidden corners of our domestic spaces, with insightful reflections about the objects that fill our homes: toilet paper and the obsession with hoarding it during times of crisis; blankets and their function as a second skin; the soap that cleanses us of impurities and regrets; umbrellas, water bottles, selfie sticks, the books on our shelves, and the dust that collects insistently on their covers.

Ordinary Fetishes offers an almost poetic recitation of the gadgets that make up everyday life. For Amara, our unconscious fetishes reveal a lot about our obsessions, needs, and construction of individual and social identity based on possessions.
