False Evidence

The story of a brave soldier who is fired from his unit and rejected by his father after being judged guilty of cowardice in the field on false evidence. He changes his name, and his son subsequently falls in love with the daughter of the guy whose false testimony led to his downfall. This delightful novel from Oppenheim's early years was written in 1896. The Victorian moral code of the Gentleman and Officer is very much on display.
