Ethnicity and Nation-building in the Nordic World

In the context of the re-emergence of ethnic nationalisms in several parts of Europe, few would think of the stable and apparently ethnically homogenous Nordic countries. They do however contain their own ethnic minorities. This book examines the historical experience of these minorities and their role in the emergence of nationalism in the Nordic world. It also looks at nationalism, separate from minority issues, in the cases of Iceland, Greenland and the Faroes.
