Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Knowledge of the correct use of ordinary wood working bench tools must be gained before any attempt is made in the construction of furniture. Such knowl edge is imparted in the author's earlier volume, Ele mentary Woodwork. Elementary Cabinetwork is not to be used merely as a reference book at the instructor's desk, but is designed as an aid to study and is to be placed in the hands of each student. The instructor should see that the projects to be made by each pupil are of such a type as will demand a systematic study of the text.
