ECOOP '93 - Object-Oriented Programming

This volume contains the proceedings of the seventh EuropeanConference on Object-Oriented Programming (ECOOP '93). Theconference attracted 146 submissions from around the world,and the selected papers range in topic from programminglanguage and database issues to analysis and design andreuse, and from experience reports to theoreticalcontributions. The volume opens with an abstract of the keynote address,"Intimate computing and the memory prosthesis: a challengefor computer systems research?" by M. G. Lamming, andcontinueswith selected papers organized into parts onframework and reuse, concurrency and distribution, types andsubtypes, languages and inheritance,time-dependentbehavior, object-oriented analysis and design, andreflection. The volume also contains an invited talk, "TheOSI manager-object model" by C. Ashford, and the positionstatements from a panel discussion.
