Besides doing a disservice to the many outstanding physicians of color, identity politics have dismantled standards for admission to medical school, decreased the quality of medical students, increased the number of incompetent doctors throughout the land, and enabled the chemical and surgical mutilation of minors. A radical, divisive, and discriminatory ideology has captured the commanding heights of the medical profession. But Americans don't want this in healthcare any more than they do in public safety or educationand neither do most physicians.
