This study reexamines little-known neumed manuscripts from the Berlinka collection in Krakau. Shifting focus from signs to scribes, Christoph Weyer asks: Do identical neumes always mean the same? Using a scribe-centered, scene-of-writing approach, the book challenges core assumptions in neume research and opens new paths for interpreting medieval musical notation.
