Desperado

This is a picture book about a traditional Chinese idiom story. This book is part of the Chinese Classic Traditional Story Anime Series. Presented in the form of illustrations and text, this book introduces the story of Zi Si, the son of the Duke of Zheng during the Spring and Autumn Periods. Zi Si asked someone to assassinate Duke Xi of Zheng and installed Duke Xi's son, Jia, as the new ruler, which led to discontent among certain noble families. These families planned to launch an attack against Zi Si but were preemptively detected by him. Zi Si swiftly eliminated them and seized control of the state of Zheng. Subsequently, Zi Si reorganized the distribution of land among the noble families, reducing the territories of the Tian, Du, Hou, and Zishi clans. Then the four families joined forces with dissatisfied individuals and rebelled against Zi Si. Ultimately, they succeeded in killing Zi Si and capturing Duke Jian. However, Zi Si's son, Zi Chan, eventually quelled the rebellion.
