Cu les son los l mites del amor? Cu les los del sexo? Qu es la fidelidad? A qu somos realmente leales? Una mujer, que nunca revela su nombre, nos narrar su historia a partir de que decide ser infiel a su esposo, y nos sumergir en las profundidades de su mente, en sus reflexiones y deseos. Sin embargo, lo que parec a una situaci n bajo control se convierte en algo incierto cuando descubre un mensaje en el tel fono de su marido. Deber delatarse y confesar su infidelidad , o seguir adelante a pesar de todo? Nuestra protagonista se debatir entre el sentimiento de culpa, el dolor, la frivolidad y el morbo. Mediante sus hilos de conciencia, nos daremos cuenta de que a veces nos miente, pero tambi n de que se miente a s misma. Aunque a veces su voz es po tica, seremos espectadores de c mo todo se desmorona a su alrededor al negarse a perder no solo a su esposo sino la vida que ha construido hasta el momento.

Vonne Lara, quien obtuvo la menci n honor fica del premio Dolores Castro en 2024, es una autora de una fuerza narrativa singular, que nos ofrece en Descarada un retrato inquietante sobre los claroscuros de la vida en pareja.

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

What are the limits of love? What are the limits of sex? What is fidelity? What are we truly loyal to?

A woman--who never reveals her name--tells her story from the moment she decided to be unfaithful to her husband, and takes us to the depths of her mind, through her musings and desires. However, what seemed like a situation well under control turns uncertain after hearing a message from her husband on her phone. Should she expose herself and confess her infidelity, or keep going despite everything? Our protagonist will grapple with feelings of guilt, pain, frivolity, and curiosity. From her train of thought we will come to realize that she lies to us sometimes, and she also lies to herself. Although her voice is poetic at times, we witness how everything crumbles around her by refusing to lose not only her husband, but the life she has built up so far.

Vonne Lara, granted an honorable mention at the Dolores Castro awards in 2024, is an author of singular narrative strength. In Shameless, she gives us a haunting portrayal of the contrasts of married life.
