Sandstorm Miguel has claimed the lives of millions of people. In an effort to restore the workforce and the economy to former glory, corpses are brought back to life-'reactivated'-and coded to work until they expire a second time. Alex Horizon, a 30-year-old farmer in a desert town, is surrounded by these Reactivations and has given up trying to find a living partner among the walking dead.
