Caregiver School: A Training Program for Family Caregivers

Are you one of the 40 million? If you are reading this then you probably are. Forty million is the estimated number of unpaid family caregivers in the United States today. And as our population ages and life spans are longer, more of us will be finding ourselves caring either for an elderly parent or an aging spouse at some time. Family caregivers are usually unpaid and certainly not trained professionals, just a husband, wife, son or daughter who is becoming in¬creasingly responsible for the care of someone they love. Through this nine-part program I will cover a variety of topics that will help you provide the best care for your loved one as well as help you anticipate needs and issues before they become problems. You will learn that there are some things you can and should do ahead of time that may help you avoid bigger problems down the road. So I will cover what steps you need to take at each part of the journey. I will show you how to create a comprehensive plan of care with your loved one so that everyone knows, understands and agrees on the next steps to take and most importantly when they need to be taken.
