Behavior of jaguars (Panthera onca) in captivity

This book details a project developed with jaguars at the Rio de Janeiro Zoo to capture and analyze behaviors. With the discovery of behaviors related to stress caused by captivity, the project moves forward to recover the natural behavior of these animals using environmental enrichment techniques. The success of the project is monitored through hormonal and behavioral analysis using ethograms. The techniques used are described in detail, allowing the work to be reproduced and adapted to other animals in captivity.
