Beguiling

Lily Maitland felt the time had come to put away her dreams of marriage and a family of her own and take charge of her life, steer her future in another direction and hope she didn't do anything silly like she did last spring, falling for a former naval commander simply because he'd rescued her from being pummeled by the potted palms.  She knew better now, and it was time to do her own rescuing.  Easier said than done, however, especially with an extended family that try to detour her from her plan to become an illustrator, to earn her own funds and secure her future as an independent woman.
