AUSIT 2012

The Australian Institute for Interpreters and Translators runs biennial conferences on topics relevant to the fields. This volume collects presentations from its conference in December 2012. The conference was given the title of "e;Jubilation"e; to celebrate 25 years of the Institute's existence. The papers in this collection are organised around three broad themes: (a) "e;Innovative Practices and Pedagogies in T and I Training"e;; (b) "e;Interpreting in the Community: International Experiences"e;; (c) "e;Translation: Challenges, Opportunities and Needs"e;. The papers are consistent with the long-standing flavour of AUSIT conferences, which combine the practical with the theoretical, reflect practice in Australia and around the world, and provide insights into important questions facing all elements of the profession.
