American Judo Illustrated

This is a classic textbook of American Combat Judo. Typical of the late 30's and 1940's - "American Judo" uses a wide array of clear illustrations to showcase a short and brutally effective course of techniques to deal with the Japanese threat of the time.

The volume aims to differentiate the Americanised version from traditional Judo / Ju Jitsu, focusing on scientific principles and the use of 'rough and tumble' American tactics and mind-set.

The guide uses a mixture of civilian, police and military style scenarios and artwork to demonstrate the universal value and applicability of American Judo.

Written in then "pulp magazine" style of the period, it is designed to be a quick reference guide to the "tricks" needed to overcome an attacker of any size with ease.

The guide even includes a small section on women's self-defence and how to best weaponise your own likely size and strength disadvantages and turn them in your favour.
