A Summerland Stories Scrapbook

One of the large group of "Baby Boomers" born in the years after World War II, Norma J Hill spent many happy childhood days at the home of her grandparents in the small OKanagan town of Summerland, B.C., Canada. Through family letters and photos, plus autobiographical material from her mother's childhood, as well as her own memories, A Summerland Stories Scrapbook: Memories & Memorabilia 1930s-1960s recreates the shared experiences, perceptions, values, and community during those years. This collection of stories, poems, and photgraphs is a record of a small Canadian town in the mid-twentieth century--a community and environment that still reflected old-time values, but was also moving forward into a very different modern world.
