A Soul Like Glass

My destiny has been forged.

Limitless power is mine to claim.

But I don't want it.

I want what I've lost, the life I didn't have a chance to live, with a love that surpassed every hope I ever dared cling to. I want the Vandawolf's ferocity and his quick mind and his determination. I need his belief in me and his perseverance. I need his fire. I need his heart.

And I can't have any of it.

Instead, I have been given a power that has thrown the land into turmoil.

War is a whisper on the lips of dragons, a snarl in the mouths of Valkyrie, a cry from humans whose families have been destroyed, and a growing scream from the desperate fae whose queen schemes to save them.

All are gathering to fight.

None will yield.

In the center of the storm are the ones I love.

My family, who I have fought to protect, are choosing sides, and so must I.

But how can I know where to place my power when the shadows of the past loom over me?

On one side, the fury of the Vandawolf and the destiny he forged for me. On the other, an arcane being whose power could save or condemn me.
