A Soft Epilogue
My grandfather passed away peacefully on December 1st, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. There's nothing I can say or do that fills up the void left by his absence.
In trying to cope with him being gone, I found myself writing poems to read to him and, more so, to connect with him, which is why I created this collection of poetry: to honor him for his unforgettable legacy.
This florilegium is a tie-in of scattered pieces that carry people's stories- all linked through the Man of the Sea.
A narrative of two kids in a motion picture and the rundown of their childhood love.
Betty and the golden girls chasing the fading haze.
They recount the tale of a wife leaving her husband for Swisher Sweet.
Tragedies about a lonely poet of some madhouse asking "Can I go home now?"
A loose retelling of a carnival and traces of fair folk wandering the hostels during the last hours.
Post-it notes and na ve romantics, a soldier coming back from war to find his one true love has died in her sleep.
Parallels of Roslyn girls and 19th-century lovers in lost sceneries.
Blurs of the bard of Avon, gossip, and tea in secret bowers.
Searing romances on parchment paper.
Folded secrets from that summer in 1945.
Escapism hinted at a fool's bluff. Scenes of epic love and wilted wildflowers.
Co-written poetry on shared keeps.
And what remains: A fable of lent books between a Sagittarius and a Libra.
