A Glossary of Memory

A Glossary of Memory is an imagined memoir written in a sequence of 26 poems. Both narrative and lyrical they navigate a daughter's recollections of her childhood aboard one of the last working sailing ships, of her father, the ship's captain, and her efforts to know her mother. The entries in this personal glossary include Babel, Fathom, Grace, Kraken, Sextant, Ultramarine, and Zero and contain meditations on culture, nature, the course of history, love and loss, and, of course, language.
