This biography of the Beatles gives an account of how the band was created, how it evolved over time, what the Beatles said and did inside the studio, and what the band themselves thought about the songs they created. In 1993, the author gained access to the Beatles' archive at Abbey Road Studios - more than 400 hours of recordings, rough drafts of the songs, studio backchat and previously unreleased material.
