The photographs gathered together in this book reflect changes to Thornbury over the last 130 years. A wide range of subjects has been chosen to illustrate the broad breadth of that change, in all its guises. For centuries the thriving livestock market was at the centre of life in the town and images recall some of its history and eventual demise. Architecturally the main streets may look untouched by time but a closer examination shows the many detailed alterations that have occurred.
