Betrayed by his own family during his coming-of-age trial, Aaron is cast out of his village and into the civilization of the city. In a world threatened with imminent destruction and ripped apart by internal politics, he must find his way back home by seeking out the only person able to help him, an exile banished deep within a labyrinth of half-forgotten caverns.
