This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the First International Symposium on Software Fault Prevention, Verification, and Validation, SFPVV 2024, held in Hiroshima, Japan, during December 2-3, 2024.The 18 full papers included in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 39 submissions.
