Portals to the Sea

Portals are places into which one passes through to come out on the other side. This photo essay presents the many unique pathways one can take to reach the beach. In this book the photographer visited,with camera in hand,to an area along the mid-Atlantic coast, specifically Virginia Beach and Norfolk,Virginia. As a child,the photographer spent many summers on the beach where each day he would walk through one of these portals and experience all that there is on the other side.
