The Heart of the Spring

Tabby Darling Shine, the youngest of the Bennett Spring Darling family, ran away to the chaotic streets of San Francisco in spring 1967, but discovered that California dreamin' was not what she expected. Once home, she is caught up in the building of the new Catholic Sportsman's Chapel just outside the famous park. Life gets complicated when her family takes in a Cuban refugee and a childhood friend returns home from Vietnam in a wheelchair.
