The quilts, created by award-winning fiber artists and accomplished amateurs, reflect Virginia's 250 years in the US in a remarkable way. These stitched creations use fabric to highlight Virginia's nature, science, history, people, involvement in the Civil War, maps and boundaries, and more. From Ella Fitzgerald to Dave Matthews, from Chapstick to peanut farms, from the Underground Railroad to America's railroad industry, the quilts deliver a new perspective.

In conjunction with the prestigious Virginia Quilt Museum's mission to cultivate and preserve the quilting arts in Virginia, these quilts were expressly made for the US semiquincentennial.
