This book summarizes his journey, from birth to the present, with details of his most recent setback, surgery, and recovery. Mason has bravely struggled with a difficult case of regressive clubfeet. Clubfoot is a birth defect that happens about 1 in every 1,000 births. Treatment is intense from birth to age 3 or 5. Most children do not continue to struggle past that point. Mason has had numerous casts on his legs, as well as multiple surgeries. Although Mason had good care and he strictly followed his treatment plan, his feet have been difficult to correct.
