Trudi and Marcus are taking the local steam train to school, as usual not talking to each other. He thinks she's a stuck-up teacher's pet; she thinks he's only capable of playing the fool. Then they see a Formal Notice from the train window. NOTICE OF CLOSURE OF RAILWAY LINE BANSTONE TO ROYDS WELL. CLOSURE OF THE RAILWAY LINE WILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY 31ST MARCH 1967. This is a bitter blow. What can they do? How can they stop them? If they don't work together, it will certainly close.
