Applied FEM of metal removal and forming : a practical course in Abaqus modeling

This book is an introduction to modeling of manufacturing processes, with the help of a commercial finite element software. The software chosen is Abaqus/CAE since it has the benefit of having many different FE-formulations included in the software, such as Lagrangian, Eulerian, Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian and Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian. The reader will learn how to use the Abaqus/CAE interface in order to model cutting, shearing, rolling, deep drawing and bending. The concept of learning the modelling process is in the form of fully described examples from preprocessing to postprocessing. Applied FEM of Metal Removal and Forming provides the reader with a brief understanding of each manufacturing process and which numerical modelling technique is best suited for modelling the given process.
