TEJIENDO Our Poetic Rematriation With Mother Earth

When the soul-heart of this book first began calling my bones to storytelling, my body became the very transmigratory altar where they wanted to birth their prayers. On a cold winter dawn with Anishinaabe soils, these stories, woven by matrilineal ancestral relationships, possessed my hands and arrived in a language not my mother tongue. In English, they invited me to embrace my privilege as a bilingual storyteller and embody my intuitive perception to share stories from the Library of Our Bones. This book is not a story of the self. Rather, it engages the spiritual poetic praxis of transmigration to uplift the intense ways that all creatures inhabit and emerge from the borderlands, the exile of the psyche. It weaves a spiritual journey in relationship with webs of ancestors and descendants, co-creating a poetic path of connection. I hope TEJIENDO Our Poetic Rematriation with Mother Earth can serve as a textual mirror in reclaiming our spiritual sovereignty in synchronicity with the Heart of the Cosmos and Mother Earth.
