Cakes: My Mother's Apron

I started collecting recipes when I was in my teens and now that I'm in my seventies, I'm still collecting and sharing. I've been trying to select my favoite cake and I find it's impossible to do. Chocolate was my favorite when I was a child but as I grew up so did my love of cakes ... all of them If it takes just a few minutes to make or hours and hours, the resulting cake is a wonderful thing. You may not remember the gift you received on a certain birthday, but I bet you remember the cake So, in this little recipe book I'm sharing a collection that has taken a lifetime to collect. One of my favorite quotes is, "If you wait for a cake to be given to you so you will be happy, then you will be happy when someone gives you a cake. But if you buy a cake for yourself so you will be happy, you have found the way of happiness."
