Count the Helmets is the completion of athirty-year goal to write a highly accuratestory about the people that made up the1985 AFA Falcon football team, its coachesand players, their journey through anextraordinary 12-1 season, and how theirshared experiences at the academy resultedin the development of leaders of character, ina culture of commitment, and a climate ofrespect, ready to serve their country. The success of this book, however, will bemeasured by how well it helps potentialcadets, from every possible culture andbackground, better understand the cultureand values of the Air Force Academy, allowingthem to make a better, more informed choiceabout whether the AFA is the right place forthemor not.
