The Kids Who Achieved Greatness is a book series that focuses on four black college graduates Yvonne, Tammy, Gregory and Derrick. In each book of the series you will meet each character and learn their life stories and what it took to get to graduation day along with the friendships and bonds they developed during their college years. Part 1 starts with Yvonne's story where she chronicles life in the inner city of Memphis. Yvonne delves into black culture, her experiences as a young child and going through the experiences of being a young black woman in America. Her story is none short of eye opening to what young black women in the inner city go through to get out and strive for greatness in a society that isn't built for them to thrive.
