The way she sees it, Stormy Allen, who just turned 13, is grown up enough to be on her own She has most everything a young girl could want, nice home, plenty of clothes and friends, but she yearns for more freedom - freedom to do as she pleases. Mom and dad obviously don't see it that way. Leaving home, Stormy runs into several roadblocks to her goal of becoming independent, thrusting her into unforeseen circumstances that cause her to rethink her plan for freedom.
