11 year old Abbie Keller sets out for her first summer camp in July 1988. It's just a normal camp, right? She finds out later it is a camp for troubled children. But what trouble is Abbie? Her imaginary friend? She makes two friends along the way, Ava, a smart and nerdy girl who loves the outdoors and reading, and a boy named Johnny who is always in trouble with the law. That is, until she befriends the group of mean girls, Alexis, Kinsley and Tess, who appear to be friends. But are they? Not when the night of truth or dare happens and Abbie is dared to jump into the lake...or more so...pushed. When May 1995 comes around, Kate Winslow decides to take over the abandoned camp. It's just what she needs! But starting a summer camp is no easy task, not when it has a dark history.
