The circle as a concept to attain spiritual energy

The aim of this book is to investigate whether the circle is an important basis for the vitalization of spiritual energy, and therefore used ceremoniously as such in very diverse societies with disparate cultures and religions.

Answers were sought in psychological theories and in the literature, interviews with ritual leaders and experts, as well as the author's own observations. The results show that there is a ritual concept for using the circle as a basis for approaching and attaining spiritual energy from a higher power or the universe that is presumed to emanate from the centre of the circle, by means of rotation, specific directions and movements. The ceremonies can be regarded as tasks carried out with precision, during which a collection of formulae of the archetypal unconscious are played and at work.

Explanations have been found mainly within the framework of psychodynamics, Gestalt psychology, and perception psychology.
