A story about a man who is confused and frustrated as a result. He plots then plops, taking a half a year nap after an overdose, whereby he conceives of mythical children who do him one better: they become successful. Upon reawakening, he realizes he is successful too. Now, the question posed is will he be killed for it? The author, incidentally, hails from the same site the novella takes place, Tampa. Fabled institutions like Medicare, Medicaid, VA, SS, food stamps and monthly checks in general are wishful byproducts of an economy based on hope and little else. How his character navigates the labyrinth and comes out smelling like a rose is an opinion the author leaves to the reader.
