Merry Meet and Merry Part is a guide through aging and timing, luck and loss, hope and rage- all the happy tragedies of life and love, following a philosophical thread; reuniting hardship with stoicism, without losing care and joy. The author uses poetry to make sense of a traumatic ten year relationship, the divorce, banishment from shattered communities, isolation borne from broken friendships, horrible injuries, disability, surgeries- and then, recovery. The slow growing seed of a new, different life; armed with the will and wisdom to mend hope, protect herself, and love again.

'Be still. A heart cannot heal fast.

Observe mine shifting hands.

A changing mind whose growth will last,

Must swim a tide of sands.'

The consequence of my three year exorcism is this: I have over three hundred common meter poems. This book was my companion; through aging and timing, luck and loss, hope and rage- all the happy tragedies of life and love. It is my guide through darker nights, and I hope it will encourage you to write your own.

My poems await, perched in the trees,

Foul-feathered, patience gone.

They roost on branches, brave the breeze,

But dare not fly til dawn.

Typically when an amateur poet starts out, they dip their toes in with a short poetry collection; a chapbook, 15 to 30 poems in a cute poetry booklet. Then maybe another chapbook in a year or two, pacing themselves. Instead, here are all nine chapbooks all at once, a poetry avalanche, bound into a single volume, to help you wind your way through your own dark woods.
