The latest generation of multidetector CT (MDCT) scanners are finding new applications in a wide variety of fields, making this one of the most exciting imaging modalities currently available. Advances in MDCT technology have overwhelmed radiologists, information technology departments and Picture Archiving and Communications systems (PACs) and networks with data sets never dreamed of 5 years ago. In this volume, an international group of experts set out to map recent developments in three key areas of the field: cardiac imaging, CT angiography, and imaging of the liver and pancreas, along with an update on the latest developments in scanning and contrast protocols. Within each section, chapters alternate between expert essays providing editorial content, and literature reviews which identify and comment upon a selection of key papers published in the past year across the whole spectrum of available journals. In this way, the radiologist can ensure that he or she has missed none of the key papers that might influence their clinical practice.
