How to shop


You can place your order on our website in six easy steps. You will find an explanation of each step below.

1. Find the books you want
2. Add the books to your shopping cart
3. Proceed to checkout
4. Sign in or register as a new customer
5. Select shipping address, shipping alternative and payment option
6. Confirm the order



1. Finding the Books You Want


You can search for books by title, author, or ISBN in the search box in the top left corner our website. Click 'Sök' or press enter to start the search.

Search Results

You can filter the search results by selecting the preferred criteria and then clicking 'Filtrera'. The available filters include book format (Bandtyp), language (Språk), delivery time (Skickas), year of publication (Utgiven) and maximum price (Maxpris). You can even filter out titles that are temporarily out of stock (Tillfälligt slut) or not yet released (Ej utkomna). Additional search words can be added in the 'Fritextfilter' field.

The book is available if the red button under the book details reads 'Lägg i kundvagn' and the item's delivery time is marked by the text 'Skickas från oss inom 2-5 vardagar', referring to the book's handling time in business days.

If the text on the red button is 'Bevaka' the item is temporarily out of stock or not yet released. If the red button is completely missing, the book's details contain the text 'Titeln har utgått ur sortimentet' and the item is no longer available and is likely to be sold out with the publisher, or not stocked by any of the suppliers we work with.

Formats

Books are published in different formats. The most common formats are:

Hardcover (Inbunden): usually hard covers and sewed binding, but could also have a softer cover.
Hardcover (Kartonnage): hard covers, glued, simpler binding
Paperback (Häftad): soft covers, usually glued binding
Half binding (Halvfransk band): leather spine and possibly leather corners, high-quality binding.
Paperback (Pocket): soft covers, smaller format and glued binding.
Paperback (Storpocket): soft covers, larger format and glued binding.
Flipback (Excess): mini (8x11cm) hardcover with sideways-printed text in normal font size.
Audio cassette (Kassettbok): a book recorded on cassette tapes.
Audio CD: a book recorded on CDs.
E-book: an electronic book that you download to your computer. If you order e-books you need to pay by credit card.
MP3: an electronic audio book that you download to your computer. If you order MP3 books you need to pay by credit card.
MP3 on CD: an electronic audio book in MP3 format that is delivered on a CD. You transfer the files from the CD to your computer. You can also play the CD in a CD-player if it supports the MP3 format.



2. Add Books to Your Shopping Cart


When you have found the book you want, you add it to your cart by clicking the red button next to it, 'Lägg i kundvagn'. If you wish to view the content of your shopping cart click the black button 'Ändra i din kundvagn' at the top of the page. Edit by changing the quantity of the items (Antal), removing one item (Ta bort) or emptying the cart (Töm kundvagn). Save the changes by selecting 'Uppdatera kundvagn'.



3. Proceed to Checkout


When you have added the books you want to your cart you proceed to the checkout by clicking 'Gå till kassan' at the top right, or by clicking 'Till kassan' on the page where you edit your shopping cart.



4. Sign in or Register as a New Customer


If you have placed an order previously enter your username and password to sign in.

If you are a new customer register your details as a consumer by clicking 'Privatperson'. The other two options are for businesses (Företag) and for public administration (Offentlig förvaltning).

Fill in your name (Namn), street address (Gatuadress), zip code (Postnummer) and city (Ort). If you order without a Finnish personal identity number (Personbeteckning) or corporate identity number (FO-nummer) or do not wish to pay by invoice, you can enter your date of birth instead in format DDMMYY. Add and confirm your e-mail address (E-post & Bekräfta e-post), your telephone number (Telefon) and your cellular number (Mobilnummer).

Select a user name (Användarnamn) - we recommend using your own e-mail address - and a password (Lösenord). Repeat your password (Lösenord igen) for confirmation.

Uncheck the first box if you don't want us to send you your password and customer number via e-mail as you save your details. Check the box under the text 'Nyhetsbrev' if you want to receive our newsletter in Swedish to your e-mail address. Save your contact information by clicking 'Spara uppgifterna'.



5. Your Order and Shipping


View your order under section '1. Min beställning' and check the box under the heading 'Presentinslagning' if you wish your order to be giftwrapped (additional 1-2 business days and 2€ per book). Verify your contact information under the title '2. Mina kunduppgifter' and select 'Ändra kunduppgifter' if you wish to edit them.

In section '3. Leverans och fraktsätt' you can choose whether you want your order to be sent to the address on your profile 'Till min hemadress', to your work address 'Till mig själv på jobbet', to yourself at a different address 'Till mig själv på annan adress', or to another person 'Till någon annan'. Fill in the delivery address if required.

Select the shipping option for your order ('Pris' stands for shipping fee and 'Tid' for the number of business days the shipping takes).

At Adlibris you can as a consumer select between the following shipping options:

* Eco-friendly shipping, 'Miljöfrakt': Climate neutral shipping option. Usually takes two to three business days to reach you after the package has shipped. Cost 2,90€.
* Standard shipping, 'Postpaket': Usually takes two to three business days to reach you after the package has shipped. Cost 3,90€.
* Free shipping, 'Gratisfrakt': Usually takes three to five business days to reach you after the package has been shipped.

With Eco-friendly shipping you can select another collection point for your package in the menu 'Utlämningsställe' if the location calculated as your closest one is not the one you would prefer.

Select if you wish to receive the arrival notification by e-mail (Jag vill ha e-postavisering), by sms (Jag vill ha SMS-avisering) or by post (Jag vill ha brevavisering). Fill in your e-mail address or cellular number.


Payment and Confirmation

In the '4. Betalning' section you can select the method of payment. Choose between invoice (Faktura) or the installment payment plan (Delbetalning) if you have registered a Finnish personal identity number. Card payment by Visa or Mastercard (Kontokort) and internet bank payment with Finnish banking codes (Nätbetalning) options are available for everyone. Representatives of businesses or public administration who have contacted our customer service in advance can also select e-invoicing (Nätfaktura).

If you wish to leave a message to Adlibris, you can type it in the box 'Meddelande till Adlibris angående din beställning' at the bottom of the page. Please note: this may cause a delay to your order since we will need to manually process any comments entered here. Press 'Fortsätt' on the left to continue



6. Confirm Your Order


Confirm your order by pressing 'Bekräfta beställningen' at the bottom of the next page.

If you have selected credit card payment you are now forwarded to a secured card payment site by DIBS. Enter the following card details: card number (Kortnummer), first name & surname of the card holder (Kortinnehavarens förnamn & efternamn), e-mail address (E-post), expiration date (Giltigthetsdatum), CVC and click 'Betala' to confirm the payment. After your payment is confirmed you will be forwarded back to adlibris.com.

Take note of your order number (ordernummer). You will also be able to find it under the menu 'Ditt konto' (your account) at the top of the page. Sign out by clicking 'Logga ut'.

When you have confirmed your order an order confirmation (Orderbekräftelse) in Swedish will be sent to your e-mail address. When your order has shipped you will receive another e-mail (Leveransavisering) with more information about the shipment.

The next time you use our site you don't have to enter your contact information again but you can just enter your user name and password at the checkout ('Gå till kassan').



Information About Delivery Time


The handling time of your order is calculated based on the number of business days it usually takes for us to receive the titles from the suppliers who stock the books and from whom we order the books we need on a daily basis. The expected delivery time for each title is stated on the book details. If you order a book that is expected to be shipped within 1-2 business days and a book that will be shipped within 2-5 business days, the whole order will be shipped from us within 2-5 business days.

The expected handling time for the order will be stated at the checkout before you confirm the order and you need to add the shipping time marked on different shipping options to calculate when you will receive your order.

Since the handling time is estimated and unexpected delays may occur, we can never guarantee that the books will be shipped within a certain number of business days.



FAQ


Different Editions A title can be available in several different editions. To be able to find all the editions we have in our database, the best way is to search by title. If you have an ISBN you will only get a match for that specific edition, and there may be newer editions available. In most cases you will find information about when a book was published on the product page for the book.



To Edit Your Order


Add On the website you can add additional books to an order you have already placed. Place a new order on the book(s) you would like to add and when you get to the checkout you can in the middle of the page see the text 'Om du vill slå ihop, markera ordern du vill slå ihop med nedan.' Check the order that you would like the new order to merge with. Please note that the delivery time might be prolonged, since it will be calculated from when the latest book was added.

If you have paid by credit card or with your online bank codes you will not be able to add anything, unfortunately, since we cannot withdraw a larger sum from your card than the one you approved when you placed your order.

Cancel You can cancel an entire order or a specific title under your account, 'Ditt konto', on our website. You cancel by clicking the link 'avbeställ hela ordern' or 'ta bort' after the title you would like to cancel in the order. If the order already has been shipped you always have purchase on approval for 14 days after receiving the item. If you would like to return a book please contact customer service.

To Cancel When you Have Paid by Credit Card If you have paid by credit card the sum for the cancelled book will automatically be returned to your account when the rest of the order is shipped. If you have only ordered one book and cancelled it we will cancel the reserved amount on your account, usually within a couple of days.

To Cancel When you Have Paid by Online Banking Codes If you have paid by online banking codes contact our customer service and let us know your IBAN bank account number for a refund.


To Merge Orders If your orders have not yet been shipped we are happy to merge them. Please note that the delivery time always is estimated according to the order with the longest handling time. Place your order on the website and when you get to the checkout you can in the middle of the page see the text 'Om du vill slå ihop, markera ordern du vill slå ihop med nedan.' Check the order that you would like the new order to merge with. Unfortunately it is not possible to merge orders when you have paid by credit card.


To Edit Address Information


When the order is placed Contact us as soon as possible via e-mail and we will hopefully be able to change the address in time before the package is sent.

For future orders Sign in on your account, 'Ditt konto', and edit your customer information. Remember to save the changes (the button 'Spara informationen' at the bottom of the page). The updated address will be valid for all future orders with adlibris.com. To edit an address for an order you have already placed - contact customer service.
